In Capital Kids we seek to provide an exciting, creative, safe, and most of all, FUN environment for kids to grow in their faith. Our goal is to celebrate Christ through dynamic, hands-on worship and to equip families to continue learning together throughout the week.

There's a place for YOU in Capital Kids!

Babies and Toddlers
Duck Pond (0-11mos.)  Noah's Ark (12 - 23 mos.)
Loving caregivers play with babies and read to them from the Baby Story Bible.  We encourage parents to continue reading all week long!
Preschoolers
Alphabet Soup (2-3yrs.) The Greenhouse (4 yrs)
Preschoolers begin their morning in age-appropriate centers which introduce their Bible story.  Later on, they come together for a fun, creative large group story and music time.  Then it's back to \small groups for activites, crafts and more play time.  They learn a monthly Bible verse and have a great time!
Elementary Kids (K-5)
We have two Sunday morning programs for Elementary kids, one each service.  All lessons are based on a monthly virtue from God's Word.  In November our focus is on:
Gratitude
Memory Verse: Give thanks to the Lord for He is good.  His love endures forever.
1 Chronicles 16:34
9:30 The Clubhouse
Taught through art-activities, kids dig deeper into the morning's Bible story and share a snack together.
11 Kids Church
Our focus here is on enouraging spiritual growth through Biblical knowledge and intentional relationships between consistent leaders and kids. Join us for an interactive worship environment complete with music, drama, games, and more, followed by age appropriate small group activities. Take home materials invite parents and kids to continue exploring their lesson during the week.
During the week - Parents, you're on!
Look for the God Time cards and Refrigerator Door sheets that elementary kids receive each week. Reiterate that the best way to grow in faith is to spend time with Jesus outside of Sunday morning.  Help your child set aside time to read the devotional cards (read with them if necessary).  This spiritual discipline is as important as homework!  Parents are encouraged to also memorize the monthly scripture so you may incorporate it into family conversations.  A great way to do this is by praying the scriptures outloud. You may also use God's Word to answer a question or support a decision you make.  Until a child internalizes it (which takes more than just hearing it on Sunday) it can't take root in his or her heart.  Allow these scriptures to become part of your vocabulary - let them take hold of YOUR heart and see how they bless your family!

Other Capital Kids programs include:

PRESCHOOL PLAYGROUP
We invite parents and children (ages 0-4) to join us for monthly playtime and outings.  It's a great way to spend time as a family while getting to know some other folks in the same season of life.  Details are available on the web and on fliers on the classroom doors.

GEAR (Games, Eatin', and Relaxin')
Join us on November 16th for the next GEAR event!  We'll play video games (Wii, Game Cube), board games, group games, you name it!  Bring your friends and $2 for pizza!  Have a great time hanging out with some other kids and leaders.  Parents are always welcome to stay!
