Coming Together -- A Letter from the C4 Elders

Several weeks ago, I had the opportunity to attend the Catalyst Conference. Catalyst is an annual church leadership conference that is held in Atlanta. The three days at Catalyst were marked with excellent labs, dynamic speakers, humbling worship, and production quality that was over the top.

It didn’t take me long to realize that I was in the minority age group (50+) of conference attendees. The majority of folks were in the 20-40 age range.

Most were working in positions of ministry leadership, and, judging from conversations I had, they are fired up about sharing their faith.

I was encouraged that the up-and-coming generation of church leaders understand very well the gospel message and how to present it in culturally relevant ways to engage folks that need Christ and are searching for answers.

As many of you know, music is the medium that most quickly grabs my attention; however, when a large number of people (in this case over 14,000) raise their hands and voices as one, praising Christ, it is nothing short of awe-inspiring.

My main take away was an overall reinforcement of my belief that C4 is following the prompting of the Spirit to be used by God to do our part in fulfilling the Great Commission.

I will continue to pray for God to use us as a catalyst.
