Unleashed Update

Updated Monday May 19, 2008

We are finally starting to see some results of our "Unleashed" capital campaign:

Matchbox (Proj. Mgr.: Stacy Scott): We have resubmitted our building permit application to the City of Raleigh and expect to hear back in early April. The application process has been much more difficult and time consuming than we expected. The contractor has done some renovation, but has been held up pending the permit. Hopefully, April will see things get back on track.

Sidewalk (Proj. Mgr.: Roy Lynch): How could you miss the progress! Wider, easier to maneuver steps have been built. A drainage pipe has been installed to allow us to level the area behind the Worship Center so it can be used as a gathering area. A retaining wall is in progress and a new railing will be installed. A special thanks to Roy for all his effort.

Fellowship Hall (Proj. Mgrs.: Bob Bittner/Tom Price): A new roof has been installed on the Fellowship Hall with downspouts to allow the runoff to be directed out of the playground once the playground upfit is completed.

Playground (Proj. Mgr.: Bob Bittner): Final plans will be in place soon. We hope to have an expanded playground, with new fence, some new playground equipment, and mulch (INSTEAD OF ROCKS!) in the very near future.

Fellowship Hall renovation (Proj. Mgr.: Val Everett): Val has had most of the plans for the interior of the Fellowship Hall and kitchen in place for some time, but we want to see how our expenses go on the previous projects before beginning this one.

Worship Center renovation (Project Mgr.: Craig Osterhus): We have had a couple of consultants come in and have received some feedback. Once the results are in, we will begin planning the upfit and have a better estimate of cost.

Tom Price and Greg Bagley are coordinating the overall projects. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact them or the appropriate Project Manager.
